III. Status of the renovation of Africa Hall
ثالثا - حالة تجديد قاعة أفريقيا

The functionality of Africa Hall was evaluated with a view to achieving a modern conference facility, incorporating exhibition and museum spaces, upgrading all furniture and conference support installations, preserving and restoring the historical and cultural values embedded in the architecture, enhancing its safety and incorporating access for persons with disabilities.
وتم تقييم مدى صلاحية قاعة أفريقيا للاستعمال، وذلك لجعلها قاعة مؤتمرات حديثة، تضم أماكن للعرض والمتاحف، وتجديد جميع أثاثها وتجهيزاتها لدعم المؤتمرات، وحفظ وترميم القطع التاريخية والثقافية المدمجة في هندستها المعمارية، وتعزيز السلامة فيها، وتجهيزها على نحو ييسر وصول الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة إليها.

The Secretary-General further indicates that, in 2013, with the assistance of the Office of Central Support Services, ECA issued another invitation for bids for design services and engaged a qualified international consultant to carry out a detailed condition assessment, establish the required work and provide an overall cost estimate for the renovation of Africa Hall.
