Mindful of the provisions of article 28, paragraphs 1 and 2, of the Organized Crime Convention, relating to the collection, exchange and analysis of information on the nature of organized crime,

UNODC, as the lead body for follow-up to the decisions of the Board, is responsible both for coordinating the gathering of information on the nature and impact of organized criminal activity in various sectors of concern to the United Nations and the identification of various initiatives under way throughout the United Nations system to counter the problem.

UNODC has strengthened its capacity to provide training and assistance in the area of crime statistics and surveys in order to support countries in development of national capacities to collect and analyse their own data, with a view to sharing them at the international level, in accordance with article 28 (Collection, exchange and analysis of information on the nature of organized crime) of the Convention.
53- وقد عزز المكتب قدرته على توفير التدريب والمساعدة في مجال الإحصاءات والدراسات الاستقصائية الخاصة بالجريمة من أجل دعم البلدان في تطوير القدرات الوطنية على جمع بياناتها الخاصة وتحليلها، بغية تبادلها على الصعيد الدولي، وفقا للمادة 28 (جمع وتبادل وتحليل المعلومات عن طبيعة الجريمة المنظمة) من الاتفاقية.
