57. As the secretariat of the Committee and its subcommittee on accreditation, OHCHR provided substantive support to and facilitated the holding of the Committee's twentyfirst session in Nairobi on 21 November 2008, prior to the ninth International Conference of National Human Rights Institutions.
57- قدمت المفوضية، بوصفها أمانة اللجنة ولجنتها الفرعية للاعتماد، دعماً فنياً لعقد دورة اللجنة الحادية والعشرين في نيروبي في 21 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2008، قبل انعقاد المؤتمر الدولي التاسع للمؤسسات الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان، ويسرت القيام بذلك.

The Committee and its Scientific and Technical Subcommittee had made further progress in implementation of the recommendations of UNISPACE III through consideration, at the annual sessions of the Committee and its Subcommittees, of relevant agenda items; the work of action teams established by the Committee under the voluntary leadership of governments; and the activities of the Office for Outer Space Affairs.
68 - ومضى يقول إن اللجنة ولجنتها الفرعية العلمية والتقنية حققتا مزيداً من التقدم في تنفيذ توصيات المؤتمر الثالث السابق الذكر من خلال النظر، في الدورات السنوية للجنة ولجانها الفرعية، في البنود ذات الصلة في جدول الأعمال ومن خلال أعمال الأفرقة التي أنشأتها اللجنة ضمن إطار القيادة الطوعية للحكومات إضافة إلى أنشطة مكتب شؤون الفضاء الخارجي.

The replies received, as well as other information on implementation activities, including those mentioned in statements made at the sessions of the Committee and its Legal Subcommittee and Scientific and Technical Subcommittee, would be taken into account in preparing a revised status report for consideration by the Working Group during the forty-seventh session of the Subcommittee, to be held in 2010.

The Workshop underscored the efforts of the Committee and its Legal Subcommittee to further advance the application of the legal regime of outer space, in particular through the adoption of General Assembly resolution 59/115 on application of the concept of the " launching State " and Assembly resolution 62/101 on recommendations on enhancing the practice of States and international intergovernmental organizations in registering space objects.

There had also been an emerging consensus that the solution to the current question regarding the officers of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space should lead to a strengthened common understanding of the interpretation of the rules regarding the composition of the bureaux of the Committee and its subsidiary bodies.
وأردف أنه تتعين الإشارة أيضا إلى نشوء فهم مفاده أن حل القضية المشار إليها بشأن أعضاء مكتب لجنة استخدام الفضاء في الأغراض السلمية يجب أن يؤدي إلى تعزيز التفاهم المشترك بشأن تفسير القواعد المتعلقة بتكوين مكاتب اللجنة وهيئتيها الفرعيتين.

The Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space has agreed to establish at its thirty-eighth session in 1995 a Working Group of the Whole to examine the working methods of the Committee and its subsidiary bodies, which would review possible alternatives to verbatim records.
ووافقت لجنة استخدام الفضاء الخارجي في اﻷغراض السلمية على أن تنشئ فريقا عاملا جامعا، في دورتها الثامنة والثلاثين في عام ١٩٩٥، لدراسة طرق عمل اللجنة وهيئاتها الفرعية واستعراض البدائل الممكنة للمحاضر الحرفية.

The Committee noted that the General Assembly, in its resolution 61/111, had endorsed the composition of the bureaux of the Committee and its subsidiary bodies for the period 2008-2009, and had agreed that the Committee and its subcommittees should elect their officers at their respective sessions in 2008.
