2. Since its establishment, the Monitoring Mechanism has been charged with the responsibility of collecting information and investigating leads relating to violations of pertinent sanctions resolutions " with a view to improving the implementation of the measures imposed against UNITA " .
2 - وقد كلفت آلية الرصد منذ إنشائها بالمسؤولية عن جمع المعلومات والتحقيق في القرائن المتصلة بانتهاك أحكام القرارات المتعلقة بالجزاءات ذات الصلة " بغية تحسين تنفيذ التدابير المفروضة ضد يونيتا " .

- plans for ample consultations in Angola between members of the monitoring mechanism and representatives of both the Government of Angola and UNITA with a view to assessing the situation and to contributing towards a full review by the Council of the measures imposed against UNITA once the peace process has been completed;

In addition, acting under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations, the Council decided that the expert panels, through visits to the countries concerned, would also identify parties aiding and abetting those violations and recommend measures to end such violations and to improve the implementation of the measures imposed against UNITA.

6. At the meeting held on 20 January, the Committee endorsed the proposed visits of the Chairman to Angola and other countries to assess implementation of the measures imposed against UNITA and to seek ways to enhance the implementation of those measures.
6 - وفي الجلسة المعقودة في 20 كانون الثاني/يناير، أيدت اللجنة قيام الرئيس بالزيارات المقترحة لأنغولا وبلدان أخرى لتقييم تنفيذ التدابير المفروضة على الاتحاد الوطني للاستقلال التام لأنغولا (يونيتا) والسعي إلى إيجاد سبل تعزيز تنفيذ تلك التدابير.

On 4 June the Chairman submitted a report to the Security Council (S/1999/644) on the results of his visits, with recommendations for enhancing the implementation of the measures imposed against UNITA.
وفي 4 حزيران/يونيه قدم الرئيس تقريرا إلى مجلس الأمن (S/1999/644) بشأن نتائج زياراته علاوة على توصيات لتعزيز تنفيذ التدابير المفروضة على يونيتا.

A report on those visits containing further recommendations for better implementation of the measures imposed against UNITA was submitted to the Council on 28 July (S/1999/829).

It further reiterated the request contained in resolution 1202 (1998) for recommendations regarding technical and other ways for Member States to improve the implementation of the measures imposed against UNITA.
وكرر المجلس أيضا الطلب الوارد في قراره ٢٠٢١ )٨٩٩١( بتقديم توصيات تتعلق بالوسائل التقنية وغيرها من الوسائل التي يمكن بها للدول اﻷعضاء تحسين تنفيذ التدابير المفروضة على يونيتا.

In resolution 1237 (1999) the Council further welcomed and endorsed the planned visits by the Chairman to Angola and other concerned countries to discuss ways to improve the implementation of the measures imposed against UNITA.
ورحب المجلس كذلك في القرار ١٢٣٧ )١٩٩٩( بالزيارات التي يعتزم رئيس اللجنة القيام بها إلى أنغولا والبلدان المعنية اﻷخرى وأيد القيام بها لمناقشة سبل تحسين تنفيذ التدابير المفروضة على يونيتا.

It was emphasized that the expeditious setting up of the panels of experts established by resolution 1237 (1999) to investigate the violations of the measures imposed against UNITA would be in order.
وتم التشديد على أن من المناسب التعجيل بإنشاء بعثات فريقي الخبراء المنشأين بموجب القرار ٧٣٢١ )٩٩٩١(، للتحقيق في انتهاك التدابير المفروضة على يونيتا.

In accordance with resolution 1221 (1999), the Committee on 12 February submitted its report to the Council (S/1999/147), in which, inter alia, it supported the recommendations made by the Secretary-General in his report on Angola (S/1999/49) for improving the implementation of the measures imposed against UNITA.

2. By its resolution 1237 (1999) of 7 May 1999, the Security Council established, for a period of six months, an independent Panel of Experts to investigate violations of the measures imposed against the União Nacional para a Independência Total de Angola (UNITA), which are contained in resolutions 864 (1993), 1127 (1997) and 1173 (1998).
2 - أنشأ مجلس الأمن بقراره 1237 (1999) المؤرخ 7 أيار/مايو 1999، فريقا مستقلا من الخبراء لفترة قدرها ستة أشهر، للتحقيق في انتهاكات التدابير المفروضة ضد الاتـــحاد الوطني للاستقــــلال التــــام لأنغـــولا (يونيتا) والواردة في القرارات 864 (1993) و 1127 (1997) و 1173 (1998).

7. In its resolution 1295 (2000), adopted on 18 April 2000, the Security Council requested the Secretary-General to establish a monitoring mechanism to collect additional relevant information relating to violations of the sanctions measures, including to investigate any relevant leads initiated by the Panel of Experts, and to report periodically to the Committee with a view to improving the implementation of the measures imposed against UNITA.
7 - وفي القرار 1295 (2000) المعتمد في 18 نيسان/ أبريل 2000 طلب مجلس الأمن إلى الأمين العام أن يُنشئ آلية للرصد تتولى جمع معلومات إضافية عن ادعاءات وقوع انتهاكات لتدابير الجزاءات بما في ذلك التحقيق في أي معلومات مفيدة ذات صلة ترد من فريق الخبراء، وأن تقدم معلومات دورية إلى اللجنة من أجل تحسين تنفيذ التدابير المفروضة ضد اليونيتا.
