40. According to decision 13/COP.9, attachment, paragraph 21, the secretariat is to prepare a synthesis and preliminary analysis of the reports submitted by Parties and observers.

1. By its decision 11/COP.9, the Conference of the Parties (COP), at its ninth session, decided that, in accordance with the terms of reference of the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC), the secretariat should prepare a synthesis and preliminary analysis of the reports submitted by Parties and observers.
