Taking note with great appreciation of the work, reports and recommendations of the Working Group on Contemporary Forms of Slavery of the former Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights, since its establishment in 1975,

The present report supplements and updates as at 3 November 2005 the report of the Secretary-General to the General Assembly on the status of the United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery of 19 August 2005 (A/60/273), which is available to the Commission on Human Rights.

Pursuant to recommendations formulated by the Office of Internal Oversight Services in its audit report on the United Nations Voluntary Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery of 2007, as at 1 January 2012, the secretariats of the Fund and the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture were placed within the Human Rights Treaties Division of OHCHR.

Trafficking was also a priority issue for the Working Group on Contemporary Forms of Slavery of the Sub—Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities.
كما أن مسألة الاتجار باﻷطفال تعتبر من المسائل ذات اﻷولوية بالنسبة للفريق العامل المعني بأشكال الرق المعاصرة التابع للجنة الفرعية لمنع التمييز وحماية اﻷقليات.

In that connection, it noted the importance of the work of the Working Group on Contemporary Forms of Slavery of the Subcommission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities and supported all the strategies formulated to prevent that practice.

1. Expresses its appreciation to the Working Group on Contemporary Forms of Slavery of the Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities for its valuable work, in particular the progress made at its eighteenth session in implementing its programme of work, and for its flexible methods of work;
١ ـ تعرب عن تقديرها للفريق العامل المعني بأشكال الرق المعاصرة والتابع للجنة الفرعية لمنع التمييز وحماية اﻷقليات لعمله القيم، وخاصة التقدم الذي أحرزه في دورته الثامنة عشرة في تنفيذ برنامج عمله، ولانتهاجه أساليب عمل مرنة؛

Recalling its resolutions on the reports of the Working Group on Contemporary Forms of Slavery of the Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities, including the most recent, resolution 1995/27 of 3 March 1995,
وإذ تشير إلى قراراتها المتعلقة بتقارير الفريق العامل المعني بأشكال الرق المعاصرة والتابع للجنة الفرعية لمنع التمييز وحماية اﻷقليات، بما فيها آخر قرار لها وهو ٥٩٩١/٧٢ المؤرخ في ٣ آذار/مارس ٥٩٩١،

5.
