For example, the African Convention on the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources was originally concluded in 1968 in Algiers and was then revised in Maputo in 2003 by the Assembly of the African Union.

In that connection, the OAU acceded to the African Convention on the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, adopted in Algiers in 1968, and, in 1991, to the Bamako Convention on the Ban of the Import into Africa and the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes within Africa. We are as deeply committed to these two undertakings as we are to the provisions of Agenda 21.
وفي هذا الصدد، انضمت منظمة الوحدة اﻷفريقية إلى الاتفاقية اﻷفريقية المتعلقة بحفظ الطبيعة والموارد الطبيعية، التي اعتمدت في الجزائر في ١٩٦٨، وانضمت إلى اتفاقية حظر استيراد النفايات الخطرة إلى أفريقيا ومراقبة حركتها عبر الحدود وإدارتها ضمن أفريقيا، التي اعتمدت في باماكو في ١٩٩١، وإننا نلتزم التزاما راسخا بهاتين المهمتين قدر التزامنا بأحكام جدول أعمال القرن ٢١.

51. The 1985 Agreement on the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations has the objectives of maintaining essential ecological processes and life-support systems, preserving genetic diversity and ensuring the sustainable utilization of harvested natural resources.
51 - ويشتمل اتفاق 1985 بشأن حفظ الطبيعة والموارد الطبيعية لرابطة أمم جنوب شرق آسيا على أهداف ترمي إلى الحفاظ على العمليات الإيكولوجية الأساسية ونظم دعم الحياة، والحفاظ على التنوع الجيني، وكفالة الاستخدام المستدام للموارد الطبيعية المستخرجة.

Further requests the Executive Director to support actions that would enhance the implementation of the 1991 Bamako Convention on the Ban of the Import into Africa and the Control of Transboundary Movements and Management of Hazardous Wastes within Africa and the 1968 Algiers Convention on the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources.

IUCN reported that its Environmental Law Centre had completed a project concerning the ASEAN Agreement on the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, under which the national legislation of each ASEAN member State relevant to the implementation of the Agreement had been reviewed in order to facilitate the identification of steps to be taken by Governments to achieve full implementation.
