I would like to take this opportunity to introduce, on behalf of a large number of delegations, the draft resolution on the International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World, 2001-2010, contained in the document A/63/L.23.

The Committee also took into account all other resolutions adopted by the Assembly on this subject, including, in particular, resolution 43/47 of 22 November 1988 on the International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism.
