For this reason, it is extremely important that all parties in South Africa, including those that have not fully taken part in the multi-party negotiations, observe the agreements achieved during them, reassert their dedication to democratic principles, take part in the forthcoming elections and demonstrate their will to conclude negotiations and overcome their differences.

The safety and security of international observers was a concern expressed in Security Council resolution 894 (1994), which called upon all parties in South Africa to respect the safety and security of international observers and to facilitate the carrying out of their mandate.

It is our sincere hope that all parties in South Africa, including those which did not participate fully in the multi-party talks, should respect agreements reached during these negotiations, recommit themselves to democratic principles, take part in the elections to be held in April next year, and resolve their internal problems by peaceful means.
