34. In paragraphs 9 to 16 of his report, the Secretary-General outlines the methodology for the accounting and transfer of peace-keeping assets, the main elements of which are as follows:

3. The report of the Secretary-General (A/50/965) is thus a response to the problem and an effort to present an asset management strategy, including proposals for the development of a materials management system, that would be capable of accounting and monitoring the huge volume and wide variety of peace-keeping assets.
٣ - وعليه يشكل تقرير اﻷمين العام A/50/965، استجابة لهذه المشكلة وجهدا يرمي إلى تقديم استراتيجية ﻹدارة اﻷصول، بما في ذلك مقترحات لاستحداث نظام ﻹدارة المواد يكون قادرا على بيان ورصد الكم الهائل والمجموعة الكبيرة المنوعة من أصول حفظ السلام.

The report on management of peace-keeping assets: surplus asset storage facilities and mission start-up kits has recently been issued for consideration by the General Assembly (A/49/936), while the report on management of peace-keeping assets: policy, technique and accounting issues is under discussion with the Department of Administration and Management.
وقد صدر مؤخرا التقرير المتعلق بإدارة أصول حفظ السلام: مرافق تخزين اﻷصول الفائضة ومجموعات المواد المخصصة لبدء البعثات، كي تنظر فيه الجمعية العامة )A/49/936(، بينما لا يزال التقرير المتعلق بإدارة أصول حفظ السلام: مسائل السياسات والتقنيات والمحاسبة، قيد المناقشة مع إدارة شؤون اﻹدارة والتنظيم.

8. It was indicated in paragraph 30 of document A/49/936 on the management of peace-keeping assets that the United Nations Logistic Base at Brindisi would be financed on an ad hoc basis in 1995 from within the existing budget of the combined forces as well as other missions.
٨ - ذكِر في الفقرة ٠٣ من الوثيقة A/49/936 المتعلقة بإدارة أصول حفظ السلام أن قاعدة اﻷمم المتحدة للسوقيات في برينديزي ستُمول من الاعتمادات المخصصة لها في عام ٥٩٩١ في الميزانية الحالية لقوات السلام المشتركة التابعة لﻷمم المتحدة وللبعثات اﻷخرى.

4. At its 67th meeting, on 12 September, on the oral proposal of the Chairman, the Committee adopted three draft decisions, entitled " Management of peace-keeping assets " , " Peace-keeping Reserve Fund " and " Rates of reimbursement to troop-contributing States " (see para. 5).

21. As was indicated in paragraph 30 of the report of the Secretary-General on the management of peace-keeping assets of 3 July 1995 (A/49/936), the United Nations Logistics Base at Brindisi was to be financed in 1995 on an ad hoc basis from within the budgets of the United Nations Peace Forces as well as other missions.
