Pursuant to the provision of article 11, section 4 (e), of the statute of the Joint Inspection Unit (JIU), the Secretary-General presents the comments of the Administrative Committee on Coordination (ACC) on the report of JIU entitled " Young professionals in selected organizations of the United Nations system: recruitment, management and retention " .

The Joint Inspection Unit (JIU) in its report entitled " Young professionals in selected organizations of the United Nations system: recruitment, management, and retention " (see A/55/798) identified spouse employment as perhaps the most critical of family support issues, as it has a direct impact on organizations' abilities to attract and retain highly qualified staff (see paras. 70-76).
