General Assembly resolution 66/66, which the Netherlands tabled together with South Africa and Switzerland and which was adopted by consensus, speaks in its operative paragraph 7 about the need to take stock, during the sixty-sixth session of the General Assembly, of all relevant efforts to take forward multilateral disarmament negotiations.

At the 23rd meeting, on 1 November, the representative of Switzerland, on behalf of the Netherlands, South Africa and Switzerland, introduced a draft decision entitled " Revitalizing the work of the Conference on Disarmament and taking forward multilateral disarmament negotiations " (A/C.1/68/L.24).

At the 19th meeting, on 24 October, the representative of South Africa, on behalf of the Netherlands, South Africa and Switzerland, introduced a draft resolution entitled " Revitalizing the work of the Conference on Disarmament and taking forward multilateral disarmament negotiations " (A/C.1/66/L.39).

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Presidents of South Africa and Switzerland all wrote introductions printed in the planner. The WWSF Executive Director provided most of the material in the planner, which features the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the work of several United Nations agencies, and the 36 WWSF laureates who received the 1998 Prizes for Women’s Creativity in Rural Life.

33. To stimulate further public dialogue on transitional justice in Libya, in May 2012, UNSMIL, in partnership with the Governments of South Africa and Switzerland and the Libyan National Consultative Group, invited six international experts to the country, including former truth commissioners from Peru and South Africa, to share their experiences of fact-finding and reconciliation in their own countries.
