During the past year, much of the work of the Preparatory Committee for the Fiftieth Anniversary has focused on the preparations for the Special Commemorative Meeting of the Assembly on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the entry into force of the Charter of the United Nations, to be held at United Nations Headquarters from 22 to 24 October 1995.
