As reflected in CAC/COSP/WG.3/2009/CRP.1, the successful provision of technical assistance to States parties to support their efforts in complying with the Convention can be viewed as a three-step process.

He stressed the importance of coordination among the treaty bodies and the importance of providing technical assistance to States parties to enable them to meet their obligations.

V. Technical assistance provided to States parties 51. The Division for the Advancement of Women continues to offer technical assistance to States parties on implementation and reporting under the Convention and the Beijing Platform for Action, as well as on implementation and follow-up to the Committee's concluding comments.
51 - تواصل شعبة النهوض بالمرأة تقديم المساعدة التقنية إلى الدول الأطراف بشأن تنفيذ الاتفاقية وتقديم التقارير بموجبها، وتنفيذ منهاج عمل بيجين، فضلا عن تنفيذ ومتابعة التعليقات الختامية للجنة.

It stated that, as explicitly provided in article 45 of CRC, UNICEF country offices had routinely provided inputs into the review process of the Committee, as well as technical assistance to States parties in their implementation of the Convention and reporting to the Committee.

As detailed in a conference room paper prepared by the Secretariat for the meeting of the Open-ended Intergovernmental Working Group on Technical Assistance held in Vienna on 3 an 4 September 2009, the means of successfully providing technical assistance to States parties to support their efforts to comply with the Convention can be viewed as a three-step process.
9- حسبما يرد مفصلا في ورقة غرفة اجتماعات أعدتها الأمانة لاجتماع الفريق العامل الحكومي الدولي المفتوح العضوية المعني بالمساعدة التقنية، المعقود في فيينا يومي 3 و4 أيلول/سبتمبر 2009، يمكن النظر إلى وسائل تقديم المساعدة التقنية إلى الدول الأطراف بنجاح بغية دعم جهودها الرامية إلى الامتثال لاتفاقية مكافحة الفساد على أنها عملية ثلاثية المراحل.

(e) Urged States parties to the Firearms Protocol to strengthen their national legislation in a manner consistent with the Protocol, and requested the Secretariat to facilitate, whenever possible, technical assistance to States parties facing difficulties in its implementation;

V. Technical assistance provided to States parties 22. The Division for the Advancement of Women continues to offer technical assistance to States parties at their request, in particular on reporting under the Convention and on follow-up to the Committee's concluding comments, as well as on ratification of the Convention and its Optional Protocol.
22 - واصلت شعبة النهوض بالمرأة تقديم المساعدة التقنية للدول الأطراف بطلب منها، وبخاصة فيما يتعلق بتقديم التقارير في إطار تنفيذ الاتفاقية، وبشأن متابعة تعليقات اللجنة الختامية على التقارير وكذلك، بشأن التصديق على الاتفاقية وبروتوكولها الاختياري.

In that decision, the Conference also requested the Secretariat to facilitate technical assistance to States parties, and to develop technical assistance tools to assist them in the implementation of the Firearms Protocol and also urged States to consider the advisability of establishing an open-ended intergovernmental working group on the Firearms Protocol.

The report also recommended that the Assembly should approve the request of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women for extension of its meeting time for 2008 and beyond. The Division for the Advancement of Women continued to provide technical assistance to States parties of the Convention upon request, including to countries emerging from conflict.
