It is high time that all parties interested in a peaceful settlement of the Cyprus dispute urgently draw the attention of the Greek Cypriot side to the dangers inherent in its reckless policy of escalation and tension on the island.
لقد أصبح اﻵن من الملح على جميع اﻷطراف المهتمة بإيجاد تسوية سلمية للنزاع في قبرص أن تلفت انتباه الجانب القبرصي اليوناني على وجه الاستعجال إلى المخاطر التي تنطوي عليها سياستها المتهورة المتمثلة في التصعيد وإشاعة التوتر في الجزيرة.

As I have repeatedly pointed out the endless barrage of such allegations made by the Greek Cypriot administration are designed to uphold the myth that it has sovereignty over the whole island and to cover up its dangerous policy of escalation and tension on the island.

The Greek Cypriot side's purchase of the sophisticated S-300 missile system from Russia, in contravention of successive United Nations Security Council resolutions, and its construction of air and naval bases for use by the Greek Armed Forces have raised tension on the island.
وقد ازداد التوتر في الجزيرة نتيجة لقيام الجانب القبرصي اليوناني بشراء منظومة قذائف متطورة من طراز S-300 من روسيا، انتهاكا للقرارات المتتالية الصادرة عن مجلس اﻷمن، وبناء قواعد جوية وبحرية لتستخدمها القوات المسلحة اليونانية.
