24- يوجد في كثير من البلدان، وبخاصة البلدان التي تستمد إيراداتها من استغلال مختلف أنواع الوقود والمعادن وغيرها من الموارد الطبيعية، مجال واسع لتحسين إدارة شؤون الضرائب واستعمال الإيرادات على نحو يُفضي إلى زيادة إسهام قطاع السلع الأساسية في تخفيف وطأة الفقر.

As regards measures to deal with price declines, volatility, the need for diversification and strengthening the contribution of the commodity sector to development, the eminent persons agreed that it is useful to divide possible actions into three categories: to be taken immediately, in the medium term and the long term.
45- ففيما يتعلق بتدابير معالجة هبوط الأسعار وتقلبها وضرورة تنويع وتعزيز إسهام قطاع السلع الأساسية في التنمية. وافقت الشخصيات البارزة على أن من المفيد تقسيم الإجراءات الممكنة إلى ثلاث فئات: إجراءات ينبغي أن تتخذ على الفور، وفي الأجل المتوسط، وفي الأجل الطويل.

33- ورحَّب المشاركون بالتقدم المحرز في القطاع الزراعي في المؤتمر الوزاري السادس لمنظمة التجارة العالمية وأكدوا أهمية مواصلة التقدم، ولا سيما في مجال الوصول إلى الأسواق وخفض الدعم المحلي، من أجل تعزيز مساهمة قطاع السلع الأساسية في نمو البلدان النامية.

General Assembly resolution 61/190 on commodities reiterated the " importance of maximizing the contribution of the commodity sector to sustained economic growth and sustainable development " (para. 1).
وأعادت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 61/190 بشأن السلع الأساسية، تأكيد " أهمية تعظيم مساهمة قطاع السلع الأساسية في تحقيق النمو الاقتصادي المستمر والتنمية المستدامة " (الفقرة 1).

It was recognized that a whole range of risks exists along the production and marketing chain and that it is important for those active in the commodity sector to have a proactive policy to manage all those risks.
