In accordance with paragraphs 9 and 10 of the financial rules, the Secretary-General of the United Nations established the Supplementary Fund and the Special Fund, respectively.

Urges Governments, regional economic integration organizations and other interested organizations, as well as non-governmental organizations and the private sector, to contribute generously to the General Fund, the Supplementary Fund and the Special Fund to be established by 1 January 1999, in accordance with the relevant paragraphs of the financial rules of the Conference of the Parties;

Contributions to the General Fund, the Supplementary Fund and the Special Fund as at 20 August 2003 will be reported in ICCD/COP(6)/2/Add.7.
