The present report takes into account the discussions held at the twenty-ninth session of the Commission and, to the extent possible, incorporates several of its suggestions.

3. At the twenty-ninth session of the Commission and twentieth meeting of the Conference of African Ministers responsible for economic and social development and planning, held in Addis Ababa from 2 to 5 May 1994, the Conference of Ministers approved the following draft resolutions and recommendation for action by the Council:

Thus, the theme of the twenty-ninth session of the Commission and the 20th meeting of the Conference of Ministers responsible for economic and social development and planning, which took place at Addis Ababa from 2 to 5 May 1994, was " Building critical capacities in Africa for accelerated growth and sustainable development " .
ومن ثم فقد كان موضوع الدورة التاسعة والعشرين للجنة والاجتماع العشرين لمؤتمر الوزراء المسؤولين عن التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والتخطيط اللذين عقدا في أديس أبابا، في الفترة من ٢ إلى ٥ أيار/مايو ١٩٩٤ هو " بناء القدرات الحاسمة في افريقيا لتعجيل النمو والتنمية المستدامة " .

31. Mrs. FERNÁNDEZ DE GURMENDI (Argentina) said that the UNCITRAL Notes on Organizing Arbitral Proceedings adopted at the twenty-ninth session of the Commission constituted an important text which, without affecting the flexibility required in arbitral proceedings, would facilitate their predictability and orderly development.
١٣ - السيدة فرنانديز دي غورميندي )اﻷرجنتين(: قالت إن مذكرات اﻷونسيترال بشأن تنظيم إجراءات التحكيم التي اعتمدت في الدورة التاسعة والعشرين للجنة تشكل نصا هاما من شأنه أن يسهل إمكانية التنبؤ بإجراءات التحكيم وتطويرها بانتظام، دون أن يمس بالمرونة اللازم توفرها فيها.

80. At its resumed substantive session of 1995, the Council decided that the membership of the Commission should be increased from 27 to 47, and that members of the Commission should be elected by the Council from among the States Members of the United Nations and members of the specialized agencies before the opening of the twenty-ninth session of the Commission (decision 1995/320).
