In view of the fact that the topic of the thematic discussion at the twenty-third session of the Commission was " International cooperation in criminal matters " , the representative of the Netherlands invited Member States to analyse the obstacles that their national judiciaries encountered in terms of mutual legal assistance and extradition with regard to such crimes.
