LEGAL FRAMEWORK The Secretary-General of the United Nations, in his report to the Security Council dated 2 May 1991, described the functions of the Commission as follows:

7. The Secretary-General, in his report to the Security Council dated 7 March 2006 (A/60/712S/2006/145), indicated that the political transition provided for under the Bonn Agreement had been completed with the elections for and inauguration (on 19 December 2005) of the National Assembly of Afghanistan.

The revised budget issued on 20 August 2004 for the period concerned (A/59/286) was prepared in accordance with the plan for downsizing the military component of the Mission as outlined by the Secretary-General in his report to the Security Council dated 19 March 2004 (S/2004/228), which was endorsed by the Security Council in its resolution 1537 (2004).

In a report to the Security Council dated 10 February 1993, 6/ the Secretary-General recommended that UNPROFOR be extended for an interim period through 31 March 1993.

In a subsequent report to the Security Council dated 6 February 1996 (S/1996/83), the Secretary-General indicated that the Mission would be known as the United Nations Mission of Observers in Prevlaka (UNMOP).

12. It was stated in paragraph 85 (b) of the report of the Secretary-General to the Security Council dated 22 March 1995 (S/1995/222) that the new mandate and functions of the operation in Croatia would be significantly smaller than the present UNPROFOR strength in that country.

أما فيما يتعلق ببعثة الأمم المتحدة للدعم في ليبيا، فقد أُبلغت اللجنة الاستشارية بأن الأمين العام كان قد طلب في رسالة موجهة إلى مجلس الأمن مؤرخة 7 أيلول/سبتمبر 2011 (S/2011/542)، إنشاء بعثة متكاملة للأمم المتحدة.
