ولقد أثبت التاريخ البشري أن أشكالا فائقة الجمال من أشكال التفاهم والتعاون بين الثقافات كانت قد وجدت طريقها إلى النور في عصور قديمة كان الصدام العسكري والفكري يهيمن عليها آنذاك، بينما شهد المجتمع الدولي في العقود الأخيرة أشكالا عنيفة من الصدام وغيابا لفكرة الحوار والتعارف، مع أن البعض يحلو له أن يتفاخر بظواهر جديدة جامعة للفكر مثل العولمة وثورة المعلومات والاتصالات.
