وللتعليم دور حيوي في تمكين المرأة، وحماية الأطفال من العمل الاستغلالي والذي ينطوي على مخاطر، وكذلك من الاستغلال الجنسي، وفي تشجيع حقوق الإنسان والديمقراطية، وحماية البيئة، ومراقبة نمو السكان. العقل المثقف والمستنير والنشط القادر على أن يسرح بحرية وإلى أبعد الحدود هو عقل ينعم بمسرّات الوجود ومكافآته " .
