1. Urges all States to be guided in their national policies by the need to curb the testing, the production and the spread of weapons of mass destruction, or with indiscriminate effect, or of a nature to cause superfluous injury or unnecessary suffering;
١- تحث جميع الدول على أن تسترشد في سياساتها الوطنية بضرورة الحد من إنتاج وانتشار أسلحة التدمير الشامل أو اﻷسلحة ذات اﻷثر العشوائي أو اﻷسلحة التي من طبيعتها أن تسبب اصابات لا موجب لها أو معاناة لا داعي لها؛

India and Pakistan should also confirm their policies not to export equipment, materials or technology that could contribute to weapons of mass destruction or missiles capable of delivering them and should undertake appropriate commitments in that regard.
وينبغي للهند وباكستان أيضا أن تؤكدا سياساتهما بعدم تصدير معدات، أو مواد أو تكنولوجيا يمكن أن تسهم في إنتاج أسلحة التدمير الشامل أو في الصواريخ القادرة على إيصالها، وينبغي أن يتعهدا بتعهدات مناسبة في ذلك الصدد.

3. States Parties shall not place in orbit around or other trajectory to or around the Moon objects carrying nuclear weapons or any other kinds of weapons of mass destruction or place or use such weapons on or in the Moon.
3- لا يجوز للدول الأطراف في هذا الاتفاق أن تضع في مدار حول القمر، أو في مسار آخر متجه إلى القمر أو دائر حوله، أجساما تحمل أسلحة نووية أو أيَّ أنواع أخرى من أسلحة التدمير الشامل أو أن تضع مثل هذه الأسلحة أو أن تستخدمها على القمر أو فيه.

3. States Parties shall not place in orbit around or other trajectory to or around the Moon objects carrying nuclear weapons or any other kinds of weapons of mass destruction or place or use such weapons on or in the Moon.
3- لا يجوز للدول الأطراف في هذا الاتفاق أن تضع في مدار حول القمر، أو في مسار آخر متجه إلى القمر أو دائر حوله، أجساما تحمل أسلحة نووية أو أي أنواع أخرى من أسلحة التدمير الشامل أو أن تضع مثل هذه الأسلحة أو أن تستخدمها على القمر أو فيه.

2. Decides to authorize Ms. Clemencia Forero Ucros to prepare, without financial implications, a working paper, in the context of human rights and humanitarian norms, assessing the utility, scope and structure of a study on weapons of mass destruction or with indiscriminate effect, or of a nature to cause superfluous injury or unnecessary suffering. 1997/37. ٢- تقرر أن تأذن للسيدة كليمنسيا فوريرو أوكروس بالقيام، في إطار القواعد المتعلقة بحقوق اﻹنسان والقواعد اﻹنسانية، بإعداد ورقة عمل، لا تترتب عليها آثار مالية، بشأن تقييم مدى فائدة ونطاق وهيكل دراسة بخصوص أسلحة التدمير الشامل أو اﻷسلحة ذات اﻷثر العشوائي أو التي من طبيعتها أن تسبب اصابات لا موجب لها أو معاناة لا داعي لها.

12. Article 3(3) prescribes that, " States Parties shall not place in orbit around or other trajectory to or around the Moon objects carrying nuclear weapons or any other kinds of weapons of mass destruction or place or use such weapons on or in the Moon. "
12- وتنص المادة 3(3) على أنه " لا يجوز للدول الأطراف في هذا الاتفاق أن تضع في مدار حول القمر، أو في مسار آخر متجه إلى القمر أو دائر حوله، أجساماً تحمل أسلحة نووية أو أي أنواع أخرى من أسلحة التدمير الشامل أو أن تضع مثل هذه الأسلحة أو أن تستخدمها على القمر أو فيه " .

Convinced that the use of or threat of use of weapons of mass or indiscriminate destruction and, in certain circumstances, the production and sale of such weapons are incompatible with international human rights and/or humanitarian law,

The Secretary-General, addressing the General Assembly on 1 October 2001, had stressed the need to strengthen the global norm against the use or proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and to redouble efforts to ensure universality, verification and full implementation of key treaties related to weapons of mass destruction.
وقد شدد الأمين العام، في كلمته أمام الجمعية العامة في 1 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2001، على ضرورة تعزيز القواعد العالمية المناهضة لاستخدام أسلحة التدمير الشامل أو انتشارها ومضاعفة الجهود الرامية إلى تحقيق الشمول العالمي للمعاهدات الرئيسية بشأن أسلحة التدمير الشامل والتحقق منها وكفالة تنفيذها تنفيذا كاملا.
