The Committee notes with concern reports about segregation of children belonging to ethnic minorities, in particular Roma, in special remedial classes, as well as about instances where ethnic minority children whose parents lack residence registration were denied access to education by local school authorities, despite contrary instructions from the Federal Ministry of Education (art. 5 (e) (v)).
377- وتحيط اللجنة علماً بقلق بتقارير تفيد أن أطفال الأقليات الإثنية، ولا سيما الغجر، يتعرضون للعزل في صفوف تعويضية خاصة، كما تفيد بوجود حالات تَحرم فيها السلطات المدرسية المحلية أطفال الأقليات الإثنية الذين ليس لدى والديهم تسجيل إقامة، من إمكانية الحصول على التعليم على الرغم من وجود تعليمات منافية من وزارة التربية الاتحادية (المادة 5(ﻫ)`5`).

While noting with appreciation the increase in school enrolment rates in minority regions and the various measures adopted to enable access to education for members of ethnic minorities, it reiterates its concern about remaining disparities for ethnic minority children in accessing education, which is often linked to the availability of teaching in Mandarin only (art. 5 (e)).
