On 26 September, the Council heard a briefing on the situation in Libya, during which the Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Lynn Pascoe, reported that on 19 September, the Secretary-General had appointed Ian Martin as his Special Adviser on post-conflict planning for Libya.
