In spite of the limitations in terms of the quality of information, the response rate and the significance of the sample of States considered, the biennial reports questionnaire provides important information on how each country assesses its progress towards achieving the broad goals set out in the Political Declaration adopted by the General Assembly at its twentieth special session (resolution S-20/2, annex, para. 14).
