The Group of 77 and China supported the continuation of the efforts of the Centre to address criminal justice reform and welcomed the thematic debate on that issue.

13. One of the major challenges posed by criminal justice reform was that procedures were expected to comply fully with the principles of the rule of law and to preserve the rights and procedural positions of both victims and offenders, while at the same time delivering justice in an efficient and timely manner.

وعبرت بياناتهم عن مختلف الآفاق الاقليمية والتطورية حول شتى المواضيع، بما فيها اصلاح نظام العدالة الجنائية في ظروف ما بعد النـزاع أو في ظروف حفظ السلام، وأنشطة ومشاريع فترة ما بعد الفصل العنصري، وادارة العدالة الجنائية المتكاملة بمشاركة المجتمعات المحلية، واكتظاظ السجون في أمريكا اللاتينية والكاريبـي.
