The General Assembly, in its resolution 51/60 of 12 December 1996, approved the United Nations Declaration on Crime and Public Security, annexed thereto.

In the area of transnational organized crime, many of the same issues and concerns raised in the United Nations Declaration on Crime and Public Security led the General Assembly to adopt its resolution 53/111 of 9 December 1998, calling for the elaboration of a Convention against transnational organized crime.
ففي مجال الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية، أدى كثير من المسائل والشواغل ذاتها المطروحة في اعلان الأمم المتحدة بشأن الجريمة والأمن العام الى أن تعتمد الجمعية العامة قرارها 35/111، المؤرخ 9 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1998، الذي يدعو الى صوغ اتفاقية لمكافحة الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية.

12. Because of the time lapse between the receipt of the responses to the survey and the preparations of the report on the implementation of the United Nations Declaration against Corruption and Bribery in International Commercial Transactions, the information on the status of adherence to the existing international legal instruments against corruption may have changed considerably.
12- ونظرا لوجود فاصل زمني بين تلقي الردود على الاستقصاء واعداد التقرير عن تنفيذ اعلان الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الفساد والرشوة في المعاملات التجارية الدولية، فان المعلومات المتعلقة بحالة الامتثال للصكوك القانونية الدولية الموجودة ربما تكون قد شهدت تغيرا كبيرا.

The Commission at its eleventh session will have before it the report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of the International Code of Conduct for Public Officials (E/CN.15/2002/14) and the report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of the United Nations Declaration against Corruption and Bribery in International Commercial Transactions (E/CN.15/2002/6).

In its resolution 51/191, the Assembly adopted the United Nations Declaration against Corruption and Bribery in International Commercial Transactions and requested the Economic and Social Council and its subsidiary bodies, in particular the Commission, to keep the issue of corruption and bribery in international commercial transactions under regular review and to promote the effective implementation of that resolution.
واعتمدت في قرارها 51/191 اعلان الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الفساد والرشوة في المعاملات التجارية الدولية، وطلبت إلى المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي وهيئاته الفرعية، وخاصة لجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية ابقاء مسألة الفساد والرشوة في المعاملات التجارية الدولية قيد الاستعراض بصفة منتظمة، وتشجيع تنفيذ ذلك القرار تنفيذا فعالا.
