At its thirty-eighth session, the Statistical Commission, having considered the report of Statistics Canada on education statistics (E/CN.3/2007/2), to set up a task force on education statistics comprising interested countries and agencies and asked the Institute for Statistics of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to be the convener of the Task Force.
