20. Noting the importance of a network of experts, the CGE requested the secretariat to develop a platform for such a network, initially beginning with those experts who participated in the regional hands-on training workshops.

In addition to the training materials on national GHG inventories, vulnerability and adaptation assessments and mitigation produced for the regional hands-on training workshops of the CGE, the group has also prepared the following technical reports as requested by the SBI to aid Parties in preparing their national communications:

The mandate of the group was extended at COP 8 to include activities relevant to enhancing adaptation planning and practices, such as examining adaptation issues in national communications of non-Annex I Parties, conducting regional hands-on training workshops on vulnerability and adaptation (V & A) assessments in the context of the preparation of national communications, and preparing relevant technical reports.
