53. Information provided by Member States in voluntary national reports will therefore make an essential contribution to the Forum's discussions in 2013 on forests and economic development and to its assessment and review in 2015, as well as to other relevant processes such as Rio+20 and post-2010 activities related to the Millennium Development Goals.

(a) On the basis of experience gained through voluntary national reports submitted in 2008 and 2010 using suggested formats, the current reporting format will be further streamlined and integrated, drawing on existing forest reporting formats and indicators, so as to reduce reporting burdens while still generating the information needed for consolidated analysis.
