In the case under review, the Committee acknowledges the accommodations made by the State party in order to remove the barriers that impeded the author's access to areas within the physical environment of the prison.

Dissemination and awareness-raising 17. The Committee welcomes the awareness-raising campaigns on sexual exploitation of children conducted in 2004 and 2005 and the initiatives undertaken by the State party to raise awareness of trafficking.
17- ترحب اللجنة بحملات زيادة الوعي في موضوع الاستغلال الجنسي للأطفال التي انطلقت في عامي 2004 و2005 والمبادرات التي قامت بها الدولة الطرف لزيادة الوعي بموضوع الاتِّجار.

(a) The failure, despite the extensive legal reforms undertaken by the State party, to classify torture as a specific offence in Venezuelan legislation in accordance with the definition in article 1 of the Convention;

The Committee is equally appreciative of the recent initiative taken by the State party to require local authorities, in conjunction with health authorities and non-governmental organizations, to draw up Children's Service Plans.
