3. Commends the international community, including the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children's Fund and the Department of Humanitarian Affairs of the Secretariat, through the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Assistance Coordination at Maputo, for their prompt response to assist the victims of this natural disaster;

50. Following the escalation of violence in southern Lebanon in July 1993, the Department of Humanitarian Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat carried out an inter-agency mission to Lebanon for the preparation of a consolidated appeal for the population in the areas affected by the conflict.
٥٠ - وإثر تصاعد العنف في جنوب لبنان في تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٣، أوفدت إدارة الشؤون الانسانية التابعة لﻷمانة العامة لﻷمم المتحدة بعثة مشتركة بين الوكالات الى لبنان ﻹعداد نداء موحد لصالح السكان الموجودين في المناطق المتأثرة بالصراع.

3. 36. On 11 May, following an assessment mission to the region, the Department of Humanitarian Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat and UNHCR launched a revised consolidated inter-agency appeal, for $532 million, representing the unmet requirements until the end of 1994 of the main United Nations agencies participating in the relief effort.
٣٦ - وفي ١١ أيار/مايو، في أعقاب بعثة تقييمية أوفدت إلى المنطقة، وجهت إدارة الشؤون الانسانية التابعة لﻷمانة العامة لﻷمم المتحدة ومفوضية اﻷمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين نداءا موحدا منقحا ومشتركا بين الوكالات، من أجل الحصول على مبلغ ٥٣٢ مليون دولار يمثل الاحتياجات التي لم تلب لوكالات اﻷمم المتحدة الرئيسية المشتركة في جهود الاغاثة حتى نهاية عام ١٩٩٤.
