In Africa, ECA and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development are cooperating to put into effect a mutual accountability framework, which they have reciprocally developed over the period 2002-2004, that will keep track of commitments of both the donors and the recipient countries.

m) Supporting the Mutual Review of Development Effectiveness (MRDE) in Africa. Having taken note of the 2010 MRDE report, we call on ECA and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development to consider producing more frequent annual updates or reviews on specific issues, in response to specific requirements.

According to the representatives of the Secretary-General, the existing Senior Economic Affairs Officer (P-5) and Economic Affairs Officers (P-4) had limited experience in managing multiple datasets and were not familiar with work on monitoring frameworks, such as the Mutual Review of Development Effectiveness in Africa of ECA and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

3. In this connection, it may be recalled that a meeting of high-level governmental experts from the African region was convened by the High Commissioner/Centre for Human Rights in Addis Ababa from 14 to 17 May 1996, with assistance from the Economic Commission for Africa and the Organization of African Unity.
3- وتجدر الإشارة في هذا الصدد إلى أن المفوضة السامية/مركز حقوق الإنسان قد دعيا إلى عقد اجتماع للخبراء الحكوميين الرفيعي المستوى من المنطقة الأفريقية في أديس أبابا في الفترة من 14 إلى 17 أيار/مايو 1996، بمساعدة من اللجنة الاقتصادية لأفريقيا ومنظمة الوحدة الأفريقية.

10. The Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development was established in Nairobi in 1975 under the auspices of the Economic Commission for Africa and the Organization of African Unity (now called the African Union).
