15. Particularly vulnerable developing countries that have suffered long-term climate change impacts beyond the threshold determined by the Conference of Parties serving as the assembly of Parties shall be eligible for compensation, funding and support.

2. The purpose of the Expert Committee on Adaptation shall be to assist particularly vulnerable developing countries, to inter alia:

The purpose of the Adaptation Committee shall be to support the work of the Conference of the Parties in assisting developing country Parties to implement adaptation actions, paying special attention to the needs of particularly vulnerable developing countries.
10- يكون الغرض من لجنة التكيف دعم العمل الذي يضطلع به مؤتمر الأطراف في مساعدة البلدان النامية الأطراف على تنفيذ إجراءات التكيف، مع إيلاء اهتمام خاص لاحتياجات البلدان النامية المعرضة للتأثر بصفة خاصة.

" Particularly vulnerable developing countries " refers to least developed countries, small island developing states and countries in Africa affected by drought, desertification and floods.
يشير مصطلح " البلدان النامية المعرضة للتأثر بصفة خاصة " إلى أقل البلدان نمواً، والدول الجزرية الصغيرة النامية() والبلدان الأفريقية المتأثرة بالجفاف والتصحر والفيضانات.

Taking into account different national circumstances, levels of risk and exposure to climate change, " particularly vulnerable developing countries " are hereby defined as developing country Parties that are particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change [and/or to the impact of the implementation of response measures], and least able to adapt, including:

Assisting particularly vulnerable developing countries, to, inter alia, develop guidelines for undertaking vulnerability and adaptation assessments, the preparation of national adaptation plans, and integrating adaptation actions into sectoral and national planning; and identifying sources of funding and technical assistance to support specific adaptation actions;
(د) مساعدة البلدان النامية المعرضة للتأثر بصفة خاصة في جملة أمور منها وضع مبادئ توجيهية لتقييم قابلية التأثر والتكيف، وإعداد خطط وطنية للتكيف، ودمج إجراءات التكيف في التخطيط القطاعي والوطني، وتحديد مصادر التمويل والمساعدة التقنية لدعم إجراءات محددة للتكيف؛

Parties reaffirmed that enhancing the resilience of vulnerable communities to climate change impacts through adaptation is an essential response to climate change, given the potential for socio-economic development to be impeded by considerable impacts of climate-related extreme events, particularly in vulnerable developing countries.
6- وأعادت أطراف تأكيد أن تعزيز قابلية المجتمعات المعرضة للتأثر لتحمل تأثيرات تغير المناخ عن طريق التكيف يشكل استجابة أساسية لتغير المناخ، بالنظر إلى احتمال أن تعرقل التأثيرات الكبيرة الناجمة عن الأحداث المناخية المتطرفة التنمية الاجتماعية - الاقتصادية، ولا سيما في البلدان النامية المعرضة للتأثر.
