8. The international community had shown a gradually increasing awareness of the scope of the problem. Mr. BIORN LIAN (Norway) said that the Norwegian authorities were currently examining the 25 recommendations adopted at the 1996 Ministerial Conference on Terrorism and were also studying with interest the proposal by the United Kingdom in implementation of the 1994 Declaration on Measures to Eliminate International Terrorism.
