(a) Welcomed the report of the Friends of the Chair on the coordination of statistical activities in the United Nations system, and appreciated the work of the Friends of the Chair under the leadership of Mexico to analyse the elements of the United Nations statistical system and existing coordination mechanisms;

By its decision 45/112, the Statistical Commission endorsed the proposal that the United Nations chief statisticians hold regular meetings and mandated the group to follow up on the recommendations of the Friends of the Chair on the coordination of statistical activities in the United Nations system (see E/CN.3/2014/13) and report back to the Commission.
