This report provides a summary of the expert meeting on national adaptation plans (NAPs) that was held in Vientiane, Lao People's Democratic Republic, on 15 - 17 September 2011.
يقدم هذا التقرير موجزاً عن أعمال اجتماع الخبراء المتعلق بخطط التكيف الوطنية الذي عُقد في فيينتيان، جمهورية لاو الشعبية الديمقراطية، في الفترة من 15 إلى 17 أيلول/سبتمبر 2011.

This was followed by a set of presentations focusing on experiences, best practices and lessons learned in formulating and implementing adaptation plans and strategies in different country contexts, including perspectives on NAPs.

Guidance in respect of national adaptation plans was provided by the Conference of the Parties through agreement on a process to enable least developed countries to formulate and implement such plans, an invitation to developing countries that are not least developed countries to employ the modalities for them, and agreement on reporting, monitoring and evaluation with regard to the national adaptation plan process.
وقدم مؤتمر الأطراف التوجيه في ما يتعلق بخطط التكيف الوطنية من خلال الاتفاق على عملية تمكين أقل البلدان نموا من صياغة وتنفيذ تلك الخطط، كما وجه دعوة إلى البلدان النامية وأقل البلدان نموا، لاستخدام تلك الطرائق، والاتفاق على طريقة الإبلاغ، والرصد والتقييم في ما يتعلق بعملية خطة التكيف الوطنية.

Encourages the Adaptation Committee to continue its work on providing technical support and guidance to the Parties, in particular in the area of national adaptation plans, and to seek further coherence and synergy with other relevant bodies and programmes under the Convention in implementing its workplan;
3- يشجع لجنة التكيف على مواصلة عملها بشأن تقديم الدعم التقني والمشورة إلى الأطراف، لا سيما فيما يتعلق بخطط التكيف الوطنية، وعلى السعي، في تنفيذ خطة عملها، إلى تحقيق مزيد من الاتساق والتآزر مع الهيئات والبرامج الأخرى المعنية في إطار المنظمة؛

Decisions were also made with regard to the representation of the SCF in the task force on national adaptation plans (NAPs) of the Adaptation Committee, as well as in the Advisory Board of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN).

A shortened version of that paper was presented at the expert meeting on national adaptation plans (NAPs) that took place also in Vientiane, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, just after the twentieth meeting of the LEG, from 15 to 17 September 2011.

37. Background: SBI 39 welcomed the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) work programme for 2013 - 2014, which includes outreach activities and regional training workshops on national adaptation plans (NAPs).

COP 19 encouraged the Adaptation Committee to continue its work on providing technical support and guidance to Parties, in particular in the area of national adaptation plans (NAPs), and to seek further coherence and synergy with other relevant bodies and programmes under the Convention in implementing its workplan.
13- وشجّع مؤتمر الأطراف في دورته التاسعة عشرة لجنة التكيف على مواصلة عملها بشأن تقديم الدعم التقني والمشورة إلى الأطراف، لا سيما فيما يتعلق بخطط التكيف الوطنية، وعلى السعي في سياق تنفيذ خطة عملها إلى تحقيق مزيد من الاتساق والتآزر مع الهيئات والبرامج الأخرى المعنية في إطار الاتفاقية().

4. At the same time, decision 1/CP.16 gives the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI) specific tasks (e.g. regarding national adaptation plans and the work programme to consider approaches to address loss and damage) and gives the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) specific tasks (e.g. the work programme for REDD-plus).
4- وفي الوقت نفسه، يُسند المقرر 1/م أ-16 إلى الهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ مهاماً محددة (فيما يتعلق على سبيل المثال بخطط التكيف الوطنية وبرنامج العمل المتعلق بالنظر في نُهج التصدي للخسائر والأضرار) ويُسند إلى الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجيا مهاماً محددة (مثل برنامج العمل الخاص بالأنشطة الإضافية لخفض الانبعاثات الناجمة عن إزالة الغابات وتدهورها).
