8. At the 42nd meeting, on 8 December, the Chief of the Documentation Programming and Monitoring Unit introduced and orally revised the draft biennial programme of work of the Second Committee for 2001-2002 (A/C.2/55/L.40, annex).

3. As part of its core responsibilities, the Department of General Assembly Affairs and Conference Services, through its Documentation Programming and Monitoring Unit, has assumed the functions of coordinating the submission of documentation for the General Assembly, its General Committee, its Main Committees and its various subsidiary organs, as well as for the Economic and Social Council and most of its subsidiary bodies.
3 - تولـى مكتب شؤون الجمعية العامة وخدمات المؤتمرات من خلال وحدة برمجة ورصد الوثائق التابعة له، ضمن مسؤولياته الأساسية، مهمة تنسيق عملية تقديم الوثائق للجمعية العامة، ومكتبها، ولجانها الرئيسية، ومختلف هيئاتها الفرعية، فضلا عن المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي ومعظم هيئاته الفرعية.

10. At the 44th meeting, on 11 December, the Chief of the Documentation Programming and Monitoring Unit of the Department for General Assembly and Conference Management introduced and orally revised the draft biennial programme of work of the Second Committee for 2002-2003 (see A/C.2/57/L.55).
10 - في الجلسة 44، المعقودة في 11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر، قدّم رئيس وحدة برمجة ورصد الوثائق التابعة لإدارة شؤون الجمعية العامة والمؤتمرات مشروع برنامج عمل اللجنة الثانية لفترة السنتين 2003-2004 وقام بتنقيحه شفويا (انظر A/C.2/55/L.55).

It should be noted that the planning, forecasting, editing and monitoring of documentation in the economic, social and related fields are undertaken by the Documentation Programming and Monitoring Unit, while the analysis of resolutions and decisions and coordinating assignment of responsibility for Economic and Social Council resolutions and decisions is the responsibility of the Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs.
وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن وحدة برمجة ورصد الوثائق تتولى التخطيط للوثائق والتنبؤ بها وتحريرها ورصدها في المجالين الاقتصادي والاجتماعي وفي المجالات ذات الصلة، في حين يتولى وكيل الأمين العام للشؤون الاقتصادية والاجتماعية مسؤولية تحليل القرارات والمقررات وتنسيق توزيع المسؤوليات فيما يتعلق بقرارات ومقررات المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي.
