On the question of the publicity to be given to the work of the United Nations in the field of decolonization, the Special Committee adopted a resolution on the dissemination of information on decolonization, which it recommends to the General Assembly for action at its sixtieth session (see chap. XII, sect. G).

In its consideration of the item, the Special Committee took into account the provisions of the relevant General Assembly resolutions, including, in particular, resolution 54/92 of 6 December 1999 on the dissemination of information on decolonization, and resolution 54/91 of the same date on the implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples.

The CHAIRMAN said that, if he heard no objection, he would take it that the Committee decided to adopt the draft resolution on dissemination of information on decolonization contained in paragraph 23 of the Subcommittee's report without a vote.
