Some States considered that the criminalization of bribery of officials of public international organizations should be the starting point for promoting greater cooperation between international organizations and States.

It was noted that an open-ended dialogue among States and intergovernmental organizations on the criminalization of bribery of officials of public international organizations, taking into account related privileges and immunities, was conducted in September 2007 at the initiative of the secretariat.
