The principle of " Communication for development " , supported by FAO, is a critical component of any development initiative to ensure knowledge is effectively shared among people and institutions.

34. This report does not pretend to provide an analysis of the communication for development practice in the United Nations system; rather it suggests that the formation of communication for development linkages within and among different United Nations organizations can reflect positively on programme-related results.
