Mr. Tanin (Afghanistan): I would like to convey the deepest condolences of the Government and the people of Afghanistan to the Government and the people of Pakistan, our neighbours, for their loss during this tragedy, and to express our full solidarity with them as they recover and rebuild in the coming months and years.

Given the importance of the matter, we would, however, like to highlight some of the points reaffirming our total solidarity with the Palestinian people.

6. In this connection, we wish to express our total solidarity with Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali's fundamental assessment of the right to self-determination:
٦ - وفي هذا الصدد، نود اﻹعراب عن تضامننا الكامل مع التقييم المبدئي لمبدأ تقرير المصير لدى اﻷمين العام بطرس بطرس غالي:

We call for enabling the Azerbaijani refugees and the displaced to return to their homes in safety, honour and dignity, and reaffirm our total solidarity and our support for the efforts undertaken by the Government and people of Azerbaijan to this end.
وندعو إلى تمكين اللاجئين الأذربيجانيين ومن طردوا من العودة إلى ديارهم في أمان وشرف وكرامة، ونُؤكد مجدداً تضامننا الكامل ودعمنا للجهود التي تبذلها حكومة وشعب أذربيجان لتحقيق هذا المبتغى.

In that sense, we stand in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
