At its 14th meeting, on 2 July, the Council began its thematic discussion entitled " Strengthening efforts at all levels to promote pro-poor sustained economic growth, including through equitable macroeconomic policies " and heard an introductory statement by the Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs (see E/2007/SR.14).
