New Zealand, Canada and Australia also hoped that it might be possible to reach a consensus, but did not believe that such a consensus had yet been achieved.

Ms. Bejzyk (Canada), speaking also on behalf of Australia and New Zealand, said that the three delegations strongly supported the efforts of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia to hold accountable those responsible for committing the most serious crimes under international law, including genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

Ms. Pepin-Hallé (Canada), speaking also on behalf of Australia and New Zealand, said that the three delegations expressed their sincere condolences for the tragic loss of MINUSTAH staff in the devastating earthquake of 12 January 2010 and commended the Mission for its invaluable contribution to the relief effort.
