Following the declaration of independence of Montenegro in 2006, the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances decided to address to the newly formed Government of Montenegro 15 outstanding cases of disappearances that had reportedly occurred between 1992 and 2000 on the territory of Montenegro, but had been listed under Serbia and Montenegro.
