Doudou Diène added that the fight against racism in a globalized world should be linked to the construction of a truly multicultural society and a key issue is how to deal with the dialectics of unity and diversity in a globalized world.
وأضاف دودو ديان أنه ينبغي ربط مكافحة العنصرية في عالم متعولم ببناء مجتمع متعدد الثقافات حقاً، وأن من القضايا الرئيسية كيفية التعامل مع جدلية الوحدة والتنوع في عالم متعولم.

86. In his presentation Doudou Diène stated that in order to understand the resurgence of contemporary racism, racial discrimination and the rejection of diversity we need to re-examine the cultural roots of racism and go back to history.
86- قال دودو ديان في عرضه إنه من أجل فهم ظهور الأشكال المعاصرة للعنصرية والتمييز العنصري ورفض التنوع، لا بد لنا من إعادة النظر في الجذور الثقافية للعنصرية والرجوع إلى التاريخ.

Mr. Maurice Glèlè-Ahanhanzo (Benin) was replaced by Mr. Doudou Diène (Senegal) as Special Rapporteur in July 2002.

47. Doudou Diène, Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, noted that racial profiling is an indicator of the extent of racism, discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.
47- وأشار دودو ديان المقرر الخاص المعني بالأشكال المعاصرة للعنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب، إلى أن التنميط العرقي مؤشِّر على حجم العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب.

45. In his presentation, Doudou Diène analysed the issue of analogies between advocacy of racial and religious hatred, with particular emphasis on the underlying political context in which such violations take place.
45- حلَّل السيد دودو ديان في العرض الذي قدمه مسألة أوجه التطابق القائمة بين الدعوة إلى الكراهية والدعوة إلى الكراهية الدينية، مع التركيز بصفة خاصة على السياق السياسي الذي تحدث فيه مثل هذه الانتهاكات().
