The transdisciplinary project entitled “Towards a culture of peace” was conceived within the context of the United Nations Decade for Human Rights Education (1995-2004), and therefore the General Assembly, at its fiftieth and fifty-first sessions, examined this question under the item entitled “Human rights questions” (resolutions 50/173 and 51/101).
نشأ المشروع المتعدد الاختصاصات والمعنون " نحو ثقافة السلام " ضمن إطار عقد اﻷمم المتحدة للتثقيف في مجال حقوق اﻹنسان )١٩٩٥-٢٠٠٤(، ولذلك نظرت الجمعية العامة في دورتيها الخمسين والحادية والخمسين في هذه المسألة في إطار البند المعنون: " مسائل حقوق اﻹنسان " )القراران ٥٠/١٧٣ و ٥٠/١٠١(.

The General Assembly examined the question at its fiftieth and fifty-first sessions under the item entitled " Human rights questions " and, pursuant to its resolution 51/101 of 12 December 1996, entitled " Culture of peace " , the Secretary-General in cooperation with the Director-General of UNESCO, has embarked upon the preparation of draft elements for a draft provisional declaration and programme of action on a culture of peace.
وتدارست الجمعية العامة المسألة في دورتيها الخمسين والحادية والخمسين في إطار البند المعنون " مسائل حقوق اﻹنسان " ، وعملا بقرارها ٥١/١٠١ المؤرخ ١٢ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٦، المعنون " ثقافة السلام " ، شرع اﻷمين العام بالتعاون مع المدير العام لليونسكو في إعداد عناصر أولية لمشروع إعلان وبرنامج عمل مؤقتين في مجال ثقافة للسلام.
