وبعد النجاح في إطلاق معيار إدارة الطاقة ISO 50001 الصادر عن المنظمة الدولية للتوحيد القياسي (إيسو)، ركّزت اليونيدو مشاريعها وبرامجها المتعلقة بالمساعدة التقنية في مجال كفاءة استخدام الطاقة الصناعية على تقديم الدعم لاعتماد المعيار ISO 50001 في الصناعة، وعلى بناء القدرات ذات الصلة به لدى المستعمِلين في الصناعات والوكالات الوطنية لإصدار شهادات الاعتماد.
