17. For the most severely affected third countries, the task of assessing and verifying actual losses and additional costs incurred by the affected country, as well as identifying particular areas of assistance, would best be served by special fact-finding missions being dispatched by or on behalf of the Security Council or its relevant sanctions committees.

28. The Security Council could also mandate the relevant sanctions committees and their working groups concerning Article 50 to monitor and report on the response of the international community to the appeals addressed by the Secretary-General for assistance to the applicant States (see also, in this connection, para. 43 below).

(c) Include violations against children as designation criteria in all relevant sanctions committees and consider options for extending the sanctions regimes to other situations of armed conflict involving violations against children;

57. Recently, the Security Council has used its instruments of persuasion to deal with spoilers by adopting targeted sanctions and by creating expert panels to investigate war economies and help the relevant sanctions committees to identify the individuals and entities to be targeted.

We call on the Council to continue to make use of the monitoring, analysis and reporting arrangements on conflict-related sexual violence, including by using the list contained in the report, as a basis for more focused United Nations engagement with the parties listed, including, as appropriate, measures in accordance with the procedures of the relevant sanctions committees.

(b) Its relevant sanctions committees to consider inviting more regularly the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for children and armed conflict to brief them on specific information contained in the Secretary General's reports.

Requests the Secretary-General to direct that any relevant United Nations agencies operating in a State or region in relation to which the Council maintains an arms embargo provide the utmost assistance to the work of relevant sanctions committees, experts groups, peacekeeping operations and other relevant United Nations entities in the implementation and compliance monitoring of that arms embargo;
